BREWER – Veterans and the community kicked off Veterans Day in Brewer with a pancake breakfast.
For the 8th year the Bangor Area Breakfast rotary has offered free breakfast to local veterans. Nearly one hundred pounds of sausage and more than twelve hundred pancakes were served up. The sit-down meal gives current and former service members a place to share their stories with one another.
“The atmosphere is electrifying, you know being able to talk to people and to share with them is the greatest thing. You know what i mean? People come up to you and say where did you serve, and what did you do.” Rev. Dr. Henry G. Wyman, Attendee, WWII Veteran
Proceeds raised from non-veterans admission will go to the “Keep Kids Warm” program. It provides families with warm clothing for winter season.
