STATEWIDE – According to the center for public integrity – Maine is failing when it comes to transparency and accountability.
The center released its state rankings earlier this week. It gives Maine an overall score of “F”, ranking it 42nd among the 50 states.
The Pine Tree State was given individual failing grades in areas such as its public access to information, ethics enforcement agencies, executive accountability and judicial accountability.
Only three states earned an overall grade higher than a D plus.
