BANGOR – Many smiles filled a Bangor bowling alley yesterday. The Special Olympics of Maine put on a State Bowling Tournament at Family Fun Lanes.
Bowling is one of the fun activities participants take part in throughout the year. Its a chance for them to show off their skills and compete against others from around the region.
“Just like you and I, every one has their favorite sports. Some of these guys train all year round for this tournament. They want to come out and show their skills and just compete like a lot of us like to do.” said Duane Hall of Special Olympics of Maine.
“The people here. You get to see all your friends. It’s fun.” added Chris Oster who himself is a Special Olympian
Over 100 bowlers from 11 schools and agencies took part in the competition in Bangor.
