AUGUSTA – A bill that would force commissioners of state agencies to appear before legislative committees won initial house approval.
It’s called “An Act to Strengthen Intra-Governmental Communications” and was crafted after the tension between Governor LePage and lawmakers.
In recent months, some of his commissioners have not appeared to share information with legislative committees and others.
The governor has said he wont allow them to appear, but this bill would force them.
It now faces additional action in both the house and senate.
