A timeless story was rekindled Thursday night as people of all ages learned how to conjur up some spells and eat some original treats.
Children in Bangor were transported to Hogwarts for the night in honor of J.K Rowling’s new book this summer, “Harry Potter and the Cursed Child”.
Govenor’s in both Bangor and Orono held a reading of the harry potter books. The event included traditional wizarding goodies such as Butterbeer and Acid Pops. Children could also take pictures with some of their favorite life sized cut out characters.l
The event brought awareness to the literary volunteers of Bangor. They are asking that people in the area bring books to donate for those in need.
Muggles of all ages took the opportunity to dress up as many of the characters, and a special professor attended the event to teach children some Defense against the Dark Arts lessons.
Bangor will be holding a Harry Potter convention called “Spellbound” this October.
