AUGUSTA – Turns out he was one of the men convicted in the murder of a well known Franco American performer in 2007.
27-year-old Corey Ross Swift was arrested Thursday and charged with robbing the Quick Mart on Western Avenue.
Police say he claimed to have a gun when he demanded money on Saturday, but he ended up fleeing before he got any cash.
According to the Morning Sentinel, Swift is one of the two men who murdered Jean-Paul Poulain in an Augusta apartment.
Swift was released from prison last summer after serving a sentence for his role in the crime and triggerman Mathew Loisel is currently serving a 30 year sentence.
Swift is described as being a transient and is being held at the Kennebec County Jail on robbery charges.
