DEXTER – A number vacant store fronts line the downtown sidewalks. And after meeting for the past couple of years, the Dexter revitalization committee is set to take the next step.
One businessman says that next step is to raise money.
“Tourism is a big part. You know, we think we can generate money through tourism where this is the last stop where traffic really branches off and goes in two different directions. So, we want to get them to stop here and spend some money.” stated business owner and committee member Frank Spizuoco.
On top of tourism, the committee member says they’d like to see Lake Wassakeag’s beach brought back to life.
You can mark your calendars for August 13th, that’s when the exhibits and events of the Red Hot Dog Day begin. The town hopes this will be an annual event.
