OLD TOWN – Science can be fun and those at Leonard Middle School are learning that first hand.
On Thursday the Old Town students took part in “Silly Science”.
Kids completed experiments, made rockets and even disproved the infamous “Five Second rule”.
The goal is to create more of an interest in science, technology, engineering, and mathematics fields.
“Middle school is, for me anyway, the pivotal point in my life where I figured out wow, i know how to do a bunch of very simple mathematics, a bunch of very simple things and that kinda translated and moved me on to my high school where I figured out that I can start doing chemical engineering.” said UMaine Student Research Association President Samuel Landry.
Organizers say it was a successful event and added the kids loved it!
