NEWBURG – Easter Sunday means family time, and what better way then to attend Maine Maple Sunday? The annual event is the opening of spring time here in Maine.
New England is known for Maple Syrup, and farms making the sugary syrup opened up their doors this Sunday to celebrate the holiday as well as the beginning of spring.
Maine Maple Sunday is a long standing tradition allowing Maine’s maple producers to share the process of making the sweet topping we find in so many of our favorite treats. This year, the warm weather allowed farmers to start collecting sap from trees earlier in Southern Maine.
