BANGOR – A rare sight as the world’s largest airliner touches down at Bangor International Airport.
Inclement weather in New York forced the Airbus A380 carrying nearly 500 passengers to reroute.
It landed safely Sunday morning just before 10 a.m.
According to the Bangor Daily News, the flight was coming from Abu Dhabi.
Airport director Tony Caruso said the aircraft was the first of it’s kind to land at BIA
It stayed for about an hour, refueling and undergoing routine maintenance, before continuing on it’s journey.
