AUGUSTA – Governor LePage refused to swear in Susan Deshambault from the Biddeford area last week after she won a special election.
LePage was upset with the labor committee for refusing to confirm his nomination of Steve Webster to the unemployment insurance commission.
The vote was split along party lines with the one independent voting against the confirmation.
The governor withdrew two other nominees from consideration and refused to swear in Deshambault even though she and her family showed up at the statehouse for the ceremony.
LePage says he’s now ready to administer the oath of office, but when that will take place is still unclear.
