MACHIAS – Children in Machias have the opportunity to receive free dental care the week of April 11th.
The New York University College of Dentistry is partnering with the Washington County Children’s Program to help provide dental care to children who otherwise may not get it.
Since the program began in 2010, over 1,000 children and 1,000 adults have received care.
“So I feel that this is the most important work that we could be doing for the children’s program. Children aren’t able to find their way into a dental office. It isn’t as easy as one would expect.”
said Teresa Alley, oral health coordinator, Washington County Children’s Program.
Children will be bused in from school, and adults are also welcome to come on a first come first serve basis.
The clinic will be held at the Lee Pellon Event Center everyday but Thursday during the week.
