AUGUSTA – A man who robbed a pair of rite aid pharmacies has been ordered to spend five years behind bars.
That’s the sentence handed down today to Rudger Ellis of Gardiner. He pleaded guilty to robbing a Rite Aid in Augusta in February 2015 and another in Gardiner a little over a week later.
In both cases he demanded the clerk to turn over oxycodone and other medications.
Along with a five year sentence, Ellis has been ordered to pay a 1,000 dollar fine and restitution to the businesses.
Steven Chaput of Chelsea has also pleaded guilty to his role in the robberies and will be sentenced later this month.
