CANAAN – 30-year-old Matthew Short was charged with arson and other offenses following last years blaze that destroyed a neighbors home and killed several animals.
During his arraignment last month, a judge ordered him to not have any contact with his girlfriend, 30-year-old Sheena Mosher.
Investigators have discovered he violated that order by making calls and sending letters to Mosher while in the Somerset County Jail. For that, he’s charged with violating the conditions of his release.
Mosher is also facing new charges of theft by deception and violating the conditions of her release.
That after investigators discovered she had been selling kerosene she had purchased with public assistance money.
Officials say she was using a Facebook page to sell the fuel for a dollar a gallon.
