BANGOR – Maine Discovery Museum held its first session of a monthly series of educational presentations.
Family members were able to ask questions about allergies and its treatments. It’s part of a collaboration with Eastern Maine Medical Center (EMMC). This is a way for providers from EMMC to talk about common topics that people ask about everyday.
“Parents do have a lot of questions and they certainly can ask their doctor but sometimes the doctors office – either they have too many kids with them or don’t think of the questions while they’re there and so this is an opportunity to learn a little bit about a topic,” said Colette Sabbagh, a Pediatrician at EMMC and president of the board, “Then (they could) ask some direct questions to see whether they should talk to their doctor some more or whether they don’t need to.”
They are expecting to have a new doctor’s office exhibit within the next year. Upcoming events can be found on the maine discovery calendar
