BANGOR– A large thanksgiving day feast was held downtown today, and it seems like it was the party that just kept giving.
“It just started five minutes ago, and already we have three hundred people” said Pastor Bobby Bledsoe as people squeezed by him to get to their seats.
City Reach, a local church group was looking to help the community for the holidays, but little did they know the impact it would have. After deciding to hold a Thanksgiving feast just six weeks ago, hundreds came to join in the party.
“My heart is so full right now” said Coordinator Nicole Gudroe. She says that dozens of volunteers from the church as well as the community were at the event to help with all of the festivities.
With Manna closing its doors this year for Thanksgiving, it seems City Reach picked up the gaps in the community. They’re hoping to continue this tradition for many years to come.
