BANGOR – The book “The Enchanted Globe” written by city councilor Sean Faircloth begins and ends here in Bangor, but visits several other parts of the world on the journey.
It also focuses on instilling what he calls Maine values, such as independent thinking and caring about others’ perspectives.
Faircloth hopes that the book will bring excitement to a topic that kids might otherwise find boring. He stated “Well I think it might be a unique offering, that is to say that to have a novel, this isn’t a picture book, it’s a full length novel, but one that has excitement adventure, but also has a lot of information for your child or student at the end of that journey.”
A special event will be held on Saturday at 1 p.m. at the Briar Patch, where kids can get a passport that will lead them to games and activities at the Maine Discovery Museum and the Bangor Public Library.
The book is also available on Amazon.
