STATEWIDE – The organization pushing for the legalization of marijuana in Maine is called on their opponents to drop their request for a recount.
The majority of Mainer’s voted in favor of Question One on election day, but it only passed by a little more than 4,000 votes.
A recount is expected to get underway Monday.
The Yes on One Campaign called on the No on One Campaign to withdraw their recount request, they said there’s no evidence the recount would change the result. They also claimed that a $.5 million in taxpayer money would be wasted on the recount process.
On Tuesday, a recount for Question Two was called off after opponents withdrew their request.
