BANGOR – Pickering square may be getting a makeover in the next few months.
Designs are currently being made to revamp the area.
Pickering Square has been a staple in many travelers commutes, Over one million people ride the bus each year.
But Tanya Emery said that in recent years there’s been public concern and space functionality issues.
Three designs are currently in the works to revamp the space, and will be presented to city council in the next few months.
Emery said they’ve been setting aside money in the budget to pay for the revitalization of the square.
Although Bangor Police were unable to comment on the story Sunday, Emery said this would provide safer commute and downtown access for those using the bus system.
