HOULTON – A Houlton police officer suffered possible head injuries during a head-on crash.
State police released the details Monday morning, saying it happened around 9:30 p.m. Friday night on Route One in Hodgdon.
Officials said Houlton police officer Jasmine Cyr was on routine patrol and had turning into a business parking lot to turn around. As she pulled back onto route one, she didn’t see an approaching s-u-v and pulled into its path.
She collided with a vehicle driven by Monica Jones, 42, of Amity. She and two juvenile passengers were also brought to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
Officials said a large snow bank obscured the view as the officer pulled onto the roadway and that’s believed to be a factor in the accident.
All of the victims were wearing seat belts, which along with airbags are credited with preventing more serious injuries.
