HOLDEN – A home for cancer patients received donations both big and small Monday morning.
You can say Christmas came early for Sarah’s House of Maine.
It came in the form of a $5,000 check.
“We’re truly grateful and we know we’re blessed,” says Delores Landry, House Manager of Sarah’s House. “It’s the perfect time of the year for us to realize that.”
The organization, which provides lodging for cancer patients receiving treatment at Cancer Care in Brewer, was given a check from Realty of Maine as way of sharing the companies many blessings.
“We just love the Christmas season,” says Dave Sleeper, Owner of Realty of Maine. “This is our way to say Merry Christmas to everybody at Sarah’s House.”
The donation was the business’ largest of the year.
All the funds will go to keeping the home running.
“It warms your heart,” says Delores. “And just when I say it can’t get better, it does.”
Look no further than below the Christmas tree, where students from the Elm Street School in Machias also donated supplies to the organization Monday.
“We just couldn’t do it without the amazing community support we get,” she says.
