LEEDS – Rail crews have had to deal with the bitter cold weather while trying to get a train back on the tracks in leeds.
The Pan Am train was heading to Rumford Monday when a buildup of ice on the tracks caused the engine to derail. There were no injuries and no serious damage reported, but the derailment did block a well traveled road.
A crane was called in to help clear the scene.
The locomotive was bound for Rumford to pick up other rail cars and there were no passengers on board.
