MACHIAS- A jury will return to Washington County Courthouse once again on Thursday to consider the fate of Matthew Davis.
On Wednesday, the jury made progress on some of the charges pending against Davis, but haven’t been able to reach a verdict on the most serious charges.
Davis is accused of shooting Heidi Pratt and Mike Kitchen in their Oakfield home and setting their house on fire back in 2013.
This is just one part of a series of violent events that happened that evening, prompting several charges against Davis, including two counts of murder, four counts of arson, three counts of theft, and one count of criminal mischief.
And while the verdicts on the murder charges are still under discussion, the jury was able to make headway on the other eight.
“And with regard to that arson charge in the dwelling place of Heidi Pratt as alleged in count three of the indictment, the jury finds that the defendant is *guilty.*” said the judge.
Davis was found guilty on all charges released today.
Thursday morning they will continue their deliberations to hopefully reach a verdict on the murder charges.
