BANGOR – Firefighters responding to a late night fire in an apartment building on Warren Street.
Bangor fire department arrived on the scene just before midnight on Thursday. They found heavy flames and smoke coming from the first floor of the building.
The fire then quickly spread into the second floor, as well as into the walls and roof.
Bangor Assistant Fire Chief Dennis Nadeau says the fire was difficult to fight due to the way the building was constructed. It took firefighters about an hour to get the flames under control.
Fortunately, nobody was home at the time and Bangor dispatchers were able to contact of the residents who lived in the building.
Bangor was assisted by Orono and Brewer Fire Departments.
We’re told the fire marshal will be on scene tomorrow to determine a cause.
