STATEWIDE – Power is out in a number of towns in northern and eastern Maine due to a substation problem as well as a transmission line down, today, Saturday December 24. Crews are being deployed and will work to restore service safely, and as quickly as possible.
Counties affected are Aroostook, Hancock, Penobscot and Washington. Estimated time of restoration is at 4 p.m.
The public is urged to slow down or move over and change lanes, when possible, if approaching utility crews working on roadways, to ensure everyone’s safety.
Customers who use generators or alternate heating sources are reminded to ensure they are used in accordance with manufacturer’s guidelines at all times.
