BANGOR – A former Bar Harbor police chief is in trouble with the law again.
Nate Young, 54, of Bar Harbor was arrested in Bangor over the weekend. He was pulled over on Main Street near Hollywood Casino at 12:30 a.m. Christmas.
Young was charged with operating under the influence and violating his bail conditions. Young was arrested for operating under the influence in Ellsworth on December 18th.
He was released on bail.
Young was a long time police chief in Bar Harbor until he was fired by the town after being found slumped over the wheel of his personal vehicle in 2013. The town launched an investigation and determined young had been drinking and driving.
Young filed a discrimination suit against the town. It was dismissed when a judge decided the town did not act inappropriately when it terminated young.
