BANGOR – A nor’easter is expected to hit Maine tomorrow.
The folks at Emera Maine have spent the past few days gearing up. They have gassed up trucks and gotten ATV’s ready to reach remote areas.
They have also called personnel back from vacations in case outages occur.
Emera Spokesman Bob Potts said “If it’s as windy as they say it’s going to be sometimes it can be difficult to get our guys up in bucket trucks for example and they just have to wait out the storm so there’s a number of variables that might impact the restoration time but we are certainly doing everything we can to prepare in advance.”
After the last storm Emera staff heard about numerous situations where customers were engaging in dangerous activities.
Officials said you should never touch a downed wire, a tree touching a downed wire or drive over one. They said it’s impossible to tell if a line has current going through it simply by looking at it.
