SEARSMONT – No one was home Monday night when flames erupted inside a home in Searsmont.
It was around 7:00 p.m. when crews were called to the house on Lawry Road. A neighbor told us it belongs to Zona Pollard who was away at the time.
Flames were shooting from some of the windows when fire crews began dousing the home with water.
We’re told the home was once a one room school house that was converted.
The fire apparently started in the living room and the Maine State Fire Marshal’s Office will try to figure out why it happened.
