BREWER – The proposed Riverwalk trail in brewer was the topic of conversation at a public meeting Tuesday night.
The Maine Department of Transportation, the City of Brewer and The Design Firm invited the public to discuss the proposed Riverwalk Trail, as well as downtown pedestrian improvements including a walking tunnel in the area. The proposal will be a continuation of the the existing trail along the Penobscot River.
Brewer Mayor Kevin O’Connell said the new waterfront attracts hundreds of people and he looks forward to what’s ahead.
O’Connell stated “I think it’s going to be a great thing, it’s nothing more than an extension of what we already have, which is a beautiful thing. I speak to people everyday that use the trail, have been on the trail.”
Phase two of the riverfront walk is expected to be complete by fall of 2018
