TROY – A woman accused of murdering her infant son in Troy is now expected to make her first court appearance Tuesday afternoon.
Miranda Hopkins, 32, was taken into custody Friday night, charged her with the murder of her seven-week-old son, Jaxson.
She called 9-1-1 early Thursday morning to report her child was unresponsive.
After investigating the death and consulting with the medical examiners office, authorities decided to press murder charges. Officials have not disclosed a cause of death.
Hopkins is being held at the Two Bridges Jail in Wiscassett without bail.
Her other two children are being cared for by family members.
