BANGOR – A man charged with robbing a Bangor laundromat received his sentence Tuesday .
David Thiede was charged with robbing the Gold Star Cleaners at the corner of Third and Union Streets twice last January. He stole more than $300.
Thiede will serve nine years in prison, including three years in federal prison for violating his supervised release.
During the hearing, the court listened to a character witness who testified on Theide’s behalf. He has also been participating in a program designed to help veterans with substance abuse.
Thiede isn’t a stranger when it comes to breaking the law.. He spent time in prison before, when he was found guilty for several bank robberies. He also served time for a manslaughter conviction.
