SOUTHWEST HARBOR – A beloved Passamaquoddy craftsman and educator who fought to preserve native traditions has lost his own battle with cancer.
David Moses Bridges was widely known for his birch bark canoes and baskets. His fight to keep knowledge of traditional Wabanaki craftsmanship alive is the subject of a documentary called “Rhythms of the Heart ” put together by Southwest Harbor filmmaker Thom Willey.
David Moses Bridges, 54, passed away on Friday.
