SOUTHWEST HARBOR – A drug bust in Hancock County has two people facing charges.
Authorities say Leon Jacobs, 43, of Southwest Harbor and Jesse Couto, 29 of Trenton were arrested after police stopped a car in Southwest Harbor.
The Maine Drug Enforcement Agency’s Downeast office had been investigating the importation and sale of heroin in Hancock County. The car was stopped as part of that investigation.
A Maine State Police dog did a drug sniff of the car and the people inside. Police found 40 grams of heroin worth about $12,000.
Jacobs and Couto are being charged with trafficking.
