BELFAST – A bail hearing for a troy women who was accused of killing her infant child has been postponed
32-year-old Miranda Hopkins appeared at the Belfast District Court last week after being accused of murdering her seven week old son, Jaxson.
Hopkins claimed she was innocent, despite being drunk that night and not remembering what happened.
According to the affidavit, the baby died January 12th from blunt force injuries, with the medical examiners ruling the death a homicide.
Hopkins claimed that one of her two others sons, who she says has special needs, may have crawled into bed with her and accidentally smothered the baby.
She is being held at the Two Bridges Regional Jail without bail. A date for her bail hearing has yet to be rescheduled.
