BANGOR – A Miami man is sentenced to 3.5 years in federal prison for stealing Mainers identities and for credit card fraud.
Ariel Perez-Calvo, 28 received his sentence Wednesday and was also given 3 years of supervised release. Perez-Calvo was also ordered to pay $35,000 in restitution.
Court records said he and another Miami man stole and used debit and credit card numbers that belonged to Maine bank customers throughout the state. They spent more than $35,000 with that stolen information. Both men had made illegal purchases before in New Hampshire.
And both pleaded guilty last yea to a count of access device fraud and aggravated identity theft.
