SANFORD – It’s being called the largest seizure of heroin in Maine history.
Maine Drug Enforcement Agents have announced the arrests of two people, following the seizure of more than eight pounds of heroin.
Authorities said they had been investigating Jason Bolduc, 39, of Parsonsfield after hearing he was selling heroin and fentanyl. He and Nichole Farrar, 35, of Sanford were arrested earlier this month after officials found four pounds of heroin in the car they were using.
That arrest led to a second bust Friday in Massachusetts where another four pounds of heroin was seized before it could be shipped to Maine.
Police also found a storage unit rented by Bolduc and found more than $177,000 in cash inside along with ledgers documenting various drug transactions.
Officials said more arrests are expected in the case.
