BANGOR – Women from around the globe marched in unison on January 21st.
Including in Augusta where women gathered to send a strong message to the new presidential administration.
One local art gallery is bringing you some of the images from those marches.
Coespace Gallery on Columbia Street in Bangor is hosting a pop up art show.
One organizer Meaghan Collette said “We wanted to do something to celebrate all of art the women and men brought to the ‘Women’s March on Augusta,’ so we decided to have a gallery and get together to showcase and celebrate the art.”
The show is featuring posters and pictures from Mainers who marched here and in other places.
“I was driving around Southern Maine the other day meeting incredible men and women picking up their art. It felt like a real treasure to be able to do that.” added another organizer, Carmine Leighton.
They are having a reception tonight with wine and appetizers and the show will continue through the weekend in addition to other event.
