BREWER – Great drinks for a great cause and you can help out this weekend at Masons.
This Friday and Saturday night Mason’s Brewery will host a fundraiser featuring an ice bar and a portion of the proceeds will go to “Salute of Service.”
The program provides training for veteran’s dogs, helping them both with physical and emotional needs.
Veteran Billie Ward said “They have given me a dog that I can take any place and not be ashamed of. She can go to a restaurant, she can go to Walmart, she can go to any store, and her behavior is above reproach.”
SOS President Kathy Hecht said “The need for service dogs for veterans is huge and when you look at the cost of an agency trained dog they are right now running $20,000-$25,000 and up.”
Billie’s dog Indy, short for Independence, helps monitor blood sugar and also provides lots of love.
You can help out by visiting the ice bar at Mason’s this weekend, or heading to the Salute of Service Facebook page.
