BANGOR – University of Maine business students are planning a fun event that will benefit both local veterans and dogs in need of homes. “Nets for Pets for Vets” will be held next month in Bangor.
It will help raise money for the Bangor Humane Society and will also support the Pets for Vets program which matches therapy dogs with veterans.
The MBS Corps will be holding a basketball tournament and dinner will help raise money for both causes.
Organizer Noelle Hannah stated “We try to do as much community service as possible and just give back and we’ve worked with veterans over the past years. And it’s just nice we’ll be benefiting in a way that everyone in the community can benefit too.”
Nets 4 Pets 4 Vets will take place on Friday, March 24 from 3:00-6:00 p.m. on Columbia Street in Bangor.
The cost of the home cooked dinner is $8 dollars for adults and $4 dollars for children under 10. It’s free for veterans and active members of the military.
You can sign up for the tournament, volunteer or donate by visiting the Maine Business School Website.
