VASSALBORO – A second person is dead after an officer involved shooting in Vassalboro.
The Maine Attorney General’s Office confirms Ambroshia Fagre, 18, of Oakland died at Maine Medical Center due to injuries sustained in the incident on Friday.
Kahdar Bailey, 25, of Gardiner died at the scene.
Police began looking for the couple Friday afternoon after hearing they had been burglarizing homes and in one case tied up a home owner at gun point while they ransacked his house.
Police caught up with them on the Arnold Road and the two suspects were shot by police during an altercation.
Maine State Police Lt. Colonel Jon Cote said “The operator of that vehicle intentionally rammed a maine state police cruiser. During that encounter officers fired upon that vehicle. As a result, one male suspect is deceased at the scene.”
Fagre was a passenger in the truck and was initially taken by life flight to the hospital before succumbing to her injuries.
The officers involved in the shooting have been placed on administrative leave while the attorney generals office investigates.
