BANGOR- People who found themselves digging through the pantry today for something to eat were in luck.
Fairmount Market was one of very few places open for business on Monday, with people stopping in for meals and ingredients to bake cookies.
Located right on Hammond Street, owner Dan Tremble felt there was no reason to close.
“It’s a neighborhood thing. If we weren’t in a neighborhood like this, I don’t think we would have bothered to open. But there are a lot of people that walk from the neighborhood that need stuff,” said Dan Tremble, owner of Fairmount Market.
Tremble says they use these slower days to clean and get work done, but he says that business stayed steady throughout the day.
