MEDWAY – Jinkies, A mystery solving team has taken form in a small town in maine. As word is starting to expand on the twosome, the crew has started to resemble one of America’s favorite crime fighting characters.
Meddling reporter Kaitlyn Connolly has the mystery.
Scooby-Doo may be a child’s cartoon, but he has nothing on Jake, the Lab Rototiller mix. Scooby snacks aren’t needed to start his missions, it only takes the sound of a bell
It all started when a neighbor’s dog went missing. Jake’s instincts kicked in and he went right into sleuthing, and since then, he’s found four other dogs lost in the woods.
“He’s wicked smart.” said his owner Tom Bishop. “Yep, one of a kind. He’s just happy to please me, so whatever i want to do, he’s up for it.”
Community members reach out to tom on facebook. Jakes already famous in the town after he was shot in an unfortunate accident with a police officer.
“The bullet cut his ear off, entered his shoulder, and came out his elbow” said Bishop. But nothing will bring him down. It only takes a ride in the car for Jake to know a dogs gone missing, and its his job to find it.
Bishop said “He pretty much picked it up himself. He knows if i say lets go find a doggy or a puppy or whatever he’s on it, he knows and he knows what to look for.”
At a mighty six years old, Jake is solving missing dog mysteries in the woods of Maine left and right, but his owner says this hobby is becoming heavy on his wallet. “As of yesterday i think i got ten more. And I cant go on them all, its starting to become a big expense.”
A new GoFund me page is helping Tom and Jake pay for their excursions around the state to get pups back to their loved ones. To this mystery solving crew, they really are the real life Shaggy and Scooby-Doo
“He’s my best friend. I don’t know what I’d do without him”.
