BELFAST – A woman accused of causing the death of her infant son on Troy will be arraigned Friday.
Miranda Hopkins, 32, was originally charged with murder for the death of her 7 week old son, but she has since been indicted on the lesser charge of manslaughter.
Hopkins told police she discovered her baby was dead when she awoke in January and didn’t know what happened. It was later determined the boy died from blunt force trauma to the head and other injuries.
Hopkins told police she suspected her other children might’ve accidentally injured the baby, but later admitted she had been drinking the night before and didn’t know what happened.
She’ll be arraigned today in Belfast.
