AUGUSTA – Maine brewers took the time out of their day to travel to Augusta Monday.
Hoping to push two bills that they say could help grow the state’s craft beer industry.
LD-579 aims to protect brewers ability to transfer beer between different breweries owned by the same person or company.
LD-388 would allow Maine brewpubs to have retail sales of their beer in the same space where food and drink is made and consumed.
Currently Maine law doesn’t specifically state laws on transferring beer between breweries.
Both bills were drawn up based on concerns from Maine brewers.
