BANGOR – The State of Maine is seeing some of its highest economic growth since the pre-recession peak.
The Center for Workforce Research and Information released its Annual Benchmark of Labor Force, and it showed that Maine was only 400 jobs away from the 2007 peak. The private sector reached an all time high of 517, 300 jobs.
Ellsworth and Bangor job fairs have found that employers are even struggling to find enough employees to fill all of the job openings they have.
Career Center consultant Paul Ruggiero stated “It’s a great time to start looking. Were going to have another job fair in the Bangor area in May. They can always come down to the office and look for resources as well.”
Ruggiero said employers looking for the most jobs are those in healthcare and customer service.
The Career Center is encouraging employers to use their resources as well, saying they say they can help find employees to fill jobs.
