BANGOR – Elected leaders from towns and cities across Maine are heading to the nations capitol.
They will be meeting with the state’s congressional delegation to discuss funding issues, including a recent proposal that would eliminate community development block grants.
Bangor Mayor Joe Baldacci said “That one program being eliminated would cost the city of Bangor almost a million dollars a year.”
Officials stated they will be discussing a number of other funding issues.
Brewer’s delegation left yesterday. Others are trying to make travel plans around the winter storm.
