BANGOR – As the storm comes sweeping up Northern Maine, we can expect many power outages. As of 5:00PM, CMP had reported over fifteen thousand , while Emera Maine was still waiting.
The storm is still expecting to bring up to two feet of snow. You can stay home, watch Netflix, and hang out with family. If your power goes out, then Emera Maine is waiting for your call.
“Good Afternoon, this is Shayne”.
Losing your power can often result in losing your temper, and Shayne knows first hand the frustrations of power outages.
“I always let the customers know that, I’d rather have one hundred people call for one outage, then everybody assume that somebody else has called, and then nobody call about it” he said.
He’s a Customer Service Representative at Emera Maine. We are removing his last name because of frustrated callers. “Sometimes you get that call, where they’re the opposite of nice” said Shayne.
But Shayne is more than just his job, he’s also a father that doesn’t get snow days with his kids. Instead, he’s busy working, doing what he can to make your home as comfortable as possible. “Once the calls start coming in, it goes non stop” he said.
Emera has been preparing for this Nor’easter far in advance. “Every storm is different. You have different precipitation, wind speed, directions” said Bob Potts, the Communication Specialist at Emera Maine. By looking at previous storms, they can predict whats heading our way.
As for Shayne, he hopes that means a storm with as few nasty phone calls as possible. “So far its been great. There have been no calls” he said.
As always, they’re anticipating helping in any way they can. Shayne will be waiting… Just in case. “Hang in there, we will be out to fix you as soon as possible”.
