STATEWIDE – The cleanup is now underway. Winter Storm Stella raged into the night, dumping more than a foot of snow on most locations.
Some received even more.
The storm also brought heavy winds which contributed to thousands of power outages around the state. Almost 37,000 people had lost power by the time the sun rose this morning.
Most of those were in the southern portion of the state where Central Maine Power has been working to restore electricity to almost 30,000 customers.
Emera Maine had more than 7,000 of its own outages. Most of those are in Downeast Maine, although there were scattered outages throughout its territory.
Utility crews plan to work throughout the day to get everyone back online.
