KNOX COUNTY – A drug bust along the coast of Maine. Two men from Massachusetts have been arrested following an investigation that included several agencies.
According to Maine Drug Enforcement Agents, officials suspected Cameron Soto, 34, had been selling illegal drugs following his release from the state prison earlier this year for a separate drug conviction.
They believed he was trafficking heroin and fentanyl and they made the bust Wednesday afternoon as Soto was preparing to leave for Massachusetts. They seized about six grams of heroin and fentanyl from his vehicle, along with scales and about $1,800 in drug proceeds.
Soto is now charged with aggravated drug trafficking.
They also arrested Trevor Teves, 18, after they discovered a pistol in his pocket.
Teves is a convicted felon who has been ordered not to possess firearms.
