PRESQUE ISLE- The Attorney General’s Office is investigating a police shooting that left a man dead in Presque Isle.
Police were called to a mobile home on Skyway Street early this morning after getting a report 25 year old Brentant Lahey had threatened people with a knife.
Officials say Lahey also threatened an officer with the knife inside the home and that’s when the officer opened fire.
Emergency crews responded, but Lahey was pronounced dead at the scene.
Officer Kyle White has been placed on paid administrative leave, which is standard protocol while police involved shootings are investigated.
Officials say Lahey had a checkered criminal past that included convictions for criminal threatening with a dangerous weapon.
